1993 27RC Brave Dash Radio Went Dead

I was listening to my TV through the Aftermarket Sony Head Unit I had installed. During a thunderstorm the radio quit. I tried cycling the aux power button but so far the radio remains dead. I checked the blade fuse on the back of the head unit and it is fine. I checked the blade fuse under the dash related to the radio, that one was good.

Is there anywhere else I should try???

  • I am confused... The fuse is under your finger? Do I remove the fuse block to get to the fuse? I thought we were talking about the ground connection?

Do they perchance share a ground connection that's loose or rusty?
  • It is even more mysterious than I thought. At the time when the radio went dead the cigarette lighter went dead. I checked all the fuses and they were all good. The radio never worked again but eventually I checked the voltage where the radio connector connects to the wires leading to the fuse block. Those voltages were active. Also some time later (long time-weeks) the cigarette lighter receptacle began working again. Very strange....
