We have a 1993 Flair 22 that we got in 1999 when it had 24,000 miles on it. It has served us well and now has almost 90K.
I do have two problems that I wonder if anyone else has encountered.
Our furnace went out 4 years ago. It turned out it needed a new igniter, a slender needle like thing. It was Christmas and everything supplier in the country was closed, so the repair shop braised a paper clip onto the old igniter. It worked for 2 years before failing.
Our local shop had the proper igniter and replaced it. It worked fine for another year, then failed again. Just wouldn't even try to light.
Local shop fooled with it and said we weren't turning it on correctly (14 years & we're not doing it right? I don't think so). But they did get it running.
Two months later on another trip, the furnace refused to work again. Fan runs but no heat.
Anyone encounter this?
2nd problem (sorry to be so long-winded): In dash air conditioner. It started leaking fluid into the cabin, so we turned it off. It's the older type system (R-6 I think). I can't find anyone who will repair the existing system.
Local shop will convert it to the newer R-34 type system, but it will run about $2,200. Not sure I want to invest this--NADA value is only about $6,000. Anybody ever repait the older systems?
Thanks
