1995 28ft Georgie Boy, Chevy 454, P30 chassis

Hi all!
Well, tomorrow we plan on going to look at the above MH.
It has 65,000 miles.
I'm just wondering if there is any thing special I should be looking at or for as far as problems with these units.
Any help or insight would be tremendously appreciated.

Thanks!

  • I had a 1995 Georgie Boy Swinger, 28 foot, with the chevy 454. I bought it new and put 50000 miles on it over 15 years. It was very well built MH and pretty much trouble free. It drove and handled very well.

  • I had a 1985 Allegro 23' with a454 on the P-30 Chassis. I got rid of it at about 40,000 miles as it was a repair & maintenance nightmare. Blew through 3 sets of manifolds/headers due to heat. It had fuel vapor lock issues that no one could cure. I wouldn't touch another 454 or a P-30 chassis!!!!!
  • Do yourself a favor and don't get a P30 chassis. Save your dough and get the wide trac chassis I think it came out in 1999. The P30 with the wheels 48inchs on center blows.
  • I had a 27' GB Pursuit on that chassis. It drove ok as the weight was low. It was very cheaply made. Water lines had little to no strain relief or support and I had a few break. The dash cracked from road joint bounce. Cheap fabric, not solid wood cabinet fronts-vinyl wrapped.
    I could go on.
