1995 Legacy Toad

Hello. My wife and I are looking to purchase our first Class A RV. It's a 2000 MHC Residency 3790 that's in excellent condition with less than 25,000 miles. I'm planning on towing my old 1995 Subaru Legacy wagon when we are going to need a car, since it's fairly light (around 3,000 lbs) and I'm not concerned about it getting road rash. Someone local has a Roadmaster Sterling tow bar for a good price ($125). Unfortunately, the cheapest I can find for the base plates is $399. Is this a good setup? Is there a less expensive, safe alternative? Thanks in advance.
  • is the subaru towable 4 down? what does the owner's manual say?
    bumpy
  • Yes. The manual transmission is towable. I don't think they recommend towing the automatic.

  • Make sure the tow bar is solid. One area you don't want to cut corners. Too much at risk.
