1995 Tioga

First question:

What is my 'official' model called? I THINK it is 29 ft long.
Has (king? queen? double?) bed in rear. Sofa and 2 bench with table in front. Tall storage bins, 7.5 liter Ford chassis.

Found:
M-H-Ford-460, 29' 6", Double Beds
Arrow Series, M-V-Ford-40, 29'

2nd:
Wiring of car/house battery (relay), starter relay, etc. drives me nuts.
Had the Onan gen out for repair, replaced the 2 house batteries.

Car was starting fine with batteries/gen out.

Put back in (ground to gen, 2nd ground to house batt, house batt plus to gen, switched plus to house batt)

Now:
turning key to 'key on' position kicks starter in.
pressing the 'emergency power' dash switch (supposed to link the car batt to the house batt)kicks the starter in.

Taking the switched plus cable of the house batt, it works.

There are 2 relay (that I can see) in the engine bay: one activates with 'key on', the other with 'key start'. I assume this is the Fleetwood factory setup.

I don't have wiring diagrams.

Tracing wires showed strange behavior (ground, plus).

Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Obviously, wiring diagram would help a LOT.

I'd hope Fleetwood could provide Model Number and more if you called them with nothing more than your Ford VIN or a number in the driver door frame from Fleetwood. Is there a paper label inside one of your interior cabinet doors? Should be one and Model should be on it.
  • Go to top of this page find "Jump to Forum", click it, scroll down and find "tech forums". This forum is more general about Class C's in nature.

Go here to request a schematic. I also noticed that you can download the owners manual for your rig and save it on your PC or print it out

I had hoped in today's (internet) day and age that those are posted/linked somewhere (and that someone knows where).

Interesting. Will play with it, see if/how it resembles my situation.
  • Have you contacted Fleetwood and requested a wiring diagram, that's about all you can get from them and it may be generic. I think that one of the relays up front connects engine alternator to house battery(s)while driving. The other may be for the emergency start setup. I have a 2004 Tioga and don't know much more about this stuff. You might want to post questions in the "tech" forums.
