1999 HR 30amp With 2 ACs

Alternate thought: your genset has sufficient power to run both A/C units internally. Try checking the genset and ensure BOTH 30- and 20-amp circuit breakers are set. The check to make sure whether there is a "select forward or back" pointer switch (mine is in the bedroom wall) is set to "back". On genset power, start the aft A/C unit, allow the voltage regulator to adjust, then turn on the forward A/C.
Also, if you have an external plug set up, mine has a plug that connect the genset power that has to be plugged in to use genset power on both A/C units.

I have a 99 Itasca with 30 amp service. I suspect that yours and mine were wired similarly from the factory. I'll do my best to describe typical factory setup and what I did to mine. I suspect someone may have modified yours in a similar fashion.

Factory: Both AC's are wired into the coach. No ability to run both AC's on shore power at the same time. Selector switch (above microwave in mine) allow front or back on shore power. Both on generator.

Modified: I tapped into the circuits coming off the generator and wired the power coming out of the 20 amp breaker on the generator. This breaker is dedicated to the rear AC. Instead of it going directly to the rear AC I wired it to an outlet that is right next to the generator. The wires that go to the rear AC I added a standard 120v ac male plug on a short 18 inch piece of wire.

How to use: When not on shore power Ii plug the short pigtail into the outlet right next to the generator. The outlet supplies power when the generator is running via the 20amp breaker on the generator. When on shore power I unplug the pigtail and plug it into an extension cord and plug it into the 120/20 amp socked that is typically on the power poles. So on shore I have the main power cord from the RV plugged into the 30 amp plug on the pole and a cord running from the generator area/pig tail described earlier to the 20amp plug on the pole.

I hope this helps. Your's may be wired differently but this was a mod that went around the forums years ago and it works well.

There was a switch in the closet lable shore generator, which controlled where the bedroom a/c got it's Power from
I'm sure if you look you will find either a switch, or an outlet for your 20 amp cord

This may not be much help because I don't know what it is, just that it works. Both of my AC's are wired through a box that will allow both to run on my 30 amp service. It displays "shed" which appears to not allow both compressors to try to start at the same time. I can run off the Onan or 30 amp pedestal no problems.

When on 30 Amp, watch your voltage.

Interesting.... You're right about not being able to run both A/Cs on 30amp service..... BUT..... My 1999 HR Endeavor is wired for 50amp service and runs everything on-board at the same time without hesitation on shore power. When running on the 5,500 Onan on-board genset it also will power both A/Cs at the same time, as well as the fridge on electric, microwave and electric water heater with plenty of power left for outlets to charge phones/computers and run a floor fan. Only thing we have to do when on genset power is turn off the water heater when we run a hairdryer.

You positive your Endeavor is only 30amps? There's not a 30amp adapter that got left on the end of your shore plug is it?

Trace the power circuit from the genset. Many 30 amp rigs have a double pole transfer switch. When the genset runs it closes the second set of contacts that allows it to run second A/C unit.
It should be located, if equipped, near the 120 volt electrical panel.

That's what I'd try. But I'd be checking for heat at the socket.
