2 adults 2 teenagers in 28' Class A for a week?

We have a 28' Winnebago Sightseer with a slide. It has a bed in the back and a Dinette; no couch. My 14 year old daughter (a girly girl with acres of clothes) wants to bring a friend for spring break. The dinette is fixed to not turn into a bed, so they will have to sleep in 1 or 2 air mattresses on the floor. Here is the floorplan.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me, but I'm being accused of being too negative. We've only been on 1 trip with 2 and it seemed about right with 2 people and a 60 pound dog.

Am I being too negative?

  • Shoot, we went on a week's trip in a 19 foot travel trailer with two adults and three teenaged boys. No slide outs and not a lot of room. It was one of the most memorable (fun) trips we ever took. That was 25 years ago, and my boys and their friend still talk about it.

  • Old-Biscuit nailed this one.

Go, bring your sense of humor and pleasant attitude, and make some memories. Bringing a tent for the teens is a good idea, if the place you're going permits you to put up a tent.

Whether you'll want to repeat the adventure remains to be seen, of course...but if you all have a little bit of flexibility, I think there's a decent chance it might be more than a one-off deal.

When I was quite young, around three or so, my family (of five) lived in a Banner motorhome (named the "Banner Manor," the slight irony of which escaped me at the time) for several months while constructing our log home. We survived, and to this day love each other very much.
  • I can picture by the end of the week, the parents will be in the tent and the girls will have the run of the RV! Big question - who gets the dog?

Have fun - should be interesting.
  • We leave Friday so no dry run. I'll put a tent up for clothes, but I doubt I can banish them to the tent, although that would be a perfect solution. I can even set an AC in one of the doors!
  • All sounds good, certainly go....BUT, I make it a weekend instead of a full week (kind of a test run) for future trips.

Anyway, enjoy the adventure and say, "Hi," to the boys (who you will soon meet.).....:E
  • Two teenage girls in any size RV is going to be well interesting. Maybe pull a small TT behind the MH for the girls. :)
  • Your 14 yr. daughter WANTS to go and you are hesitant :H

    GO......GO.....GO and ENJOY.

Soon those boys will be hanging around and your daughter will be interested in anything else besides camping.
Then it's off to College.........marriage and busy life.

    GO......GO.....GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
