2 x 12 volts or 2 x 6 volts batteries?

I just checked some web site for the Black Box "Trojan". They seem to be a lower class Trojan, and it does not say "Trojan" on the battery. It is supposed to be a renamed T605 Trojan battery. Trojan are "supposed" to last longer than Costco or Sam club batteries.

I might be looking at AGM batteries, but how well do they charge with the engine alternator? I was reading that they are not supposed to be mixed with wet cell batteries? As I understand, when the alternator is running, it charges both battery banks after the chassis batteries are up?

Does anybody has a price / experience for 6 volts AGM batteries at Costco or Sam Club in USA?

I was planning a tempory installation of 3 x 6 volts to get more juice. Two in parallel and one in series with the two parallel, isn't it possible, I am just about to connect the setup!

no u cant use Three 6 volts at all TWO or FOUR must be used

on a side note buying six volters at Costco in usa will cost u about 116$ cdn;;don't know what its like in Quebec but in BC you can buy Rv six volts for $115.00 cdn so really don't understand your point at all

I just called, they have the Trojan Black box GC225 6volt batteries for $140 each plus tax, total $322. This is the best deal I could get. Where do you get your's, maybe I can find the same store here?

Try someone whom sells NON trojan batterys Trojan are like michelin tires overpriced and no better than other leading brands
I used American batterys U2200 series there are ones out there that are much cheaper than trojans
some automotive part warehouse also carry them as well as most Rv dealers

Or maybe I would just use my two wet until I get to USA if I see that they can hold a charge for at least one night with the heat on.

lol based on what your OP asked and where you have ended up I will have to assume you really like to just waste time on a go nowhere program I do guess?

I just connected it, the 2 wet in series, then the 2 wet in parallel with the AGM. Ok, it works, I get 12 volt out the post to the RV but I hear you, if I gain nothing...

Now, how come those 3 together would not give more reserve. Is'nt like if I would have a big 6 volt connected in parallel with a smaller 6 volt?

My coach came with Four 12v deep cycle batteries. When I replaced them I just got the same sence we do not boon dock often. One down side is they are crazy heavy.

NO!

ok it can be done but there is no point really. Or maybe there is if the two old batteries are low on capacity you could parallel them and place in series with the good AGM. Worst case you will over work the AGM and have to remove it and place the two wet cells in series.

Probably better off to just put the two wet cells in series from the get-go and save the AGM for the core charge. They may benefit from an equalization charge if they have been sitting.
