2003 bounder ford v10 no start

I have a 2003 Bounder on the Ford F53 chassis. We went to leave for a trip this morning and there is no power to anything on the dash no power to the electric booster or the back up camera. Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas as to what is causing it????

  • I need to add some more to the puzzle; There is no power at the dash when the key is turned on, ignition sw has been replaced. Horn is inop, headlights are inop, electric brake boost is inop. I have a truck tech here working on it now, but I'm not encouraged yet. Good Sam ERS insisted on sending a mobil guy out rather than tow it about 12 miles. The problem appears to be prior to the starter circuitry.
Keep the suggestions flowing and when it is finally repaired I'll post the repair!
  • I had the same problem at a rest stop in Illinois last year coming back from Iowa. I was fortunate to get a good Tech from the road service and he followed it through and when he removed the leads from the noted solenoid on the passenger side of the radiator, he sanded the connectors, put it back together and it started right up. No problem since. The solenoid was accessed from the passenger wheel well after turning the wheel to allow access to the point.

Battery is known good, there is no power to the ignition sw module, it has started a couple of times intermittently, so don't suspect fusible link at this point. There is power to the BCC & the steps. Suspect a solenoid somewhere between the BCC and the ignition module.

Not sure if this will be the same as your 2003 F53, but I had the same type of issue on my 2000 F53. There's a solenoid on the radiator bracket, top passenger side. This is the ignition solenoid that starts the engine. I had an intermitting problem with starting the MH and replaced this part. Before you replace try cleaning all connections. Make sure you disconnect your battery prior to playing around. If this doesn't help, try jumping around the solenoid. If this works replace part.

  • Main disconnect is on and steps work, horn makes very slight audible noise.
  • Is your main battery disconnect on.
does your horn work, with key on, , ?
  • Battery is known good, there is no power to the ignition sw module, it has started a couple of times intermittently, so don't suspect fusible link at this point. There is power to the BCC & the steps. Suspect a solenoid somewhere between the BCC and the ignition module.
  • All the power goes thru the BCC (battery control center) It's under the hood. Did you try pressing your aux strat button on the dash. The button jumpers both battery's together. Push and hold and turn the key on. Something should work.
  • Sounds like the fusible link is blown from the chassis battery to the starter.
