I had my fuel pump go on a trip out west last summer and had to take it to a shop, I think the bill was about $1200. This year my generator was not able to draw fuel from that tank and I dreaded dropping the tank myself to fix the gas line and thought all kinds of ways around it. I finally bit the bullet and borrowed a motor cycle jack from a fellow rver and did the job in my driveway, it was not that bad. I took about 3-4 hrs, others have said they have done it in under an Hr. I would have taken me a lot longer to cut a access hole above the tank and make a cover for it. I did not know how much lower the tank was than the floor or what wires were under there. A large trap door would be nice when you are on the road and you fuel pump goes or your genset line needs replacing.
