- PoohbyExplorerHi K town traveler, I just set up my 2003 Ford explorer 4x4 with the neutral tow switch mod all I did was go to radio shack get a 12v LED and install in the dash and connect to a green plug that you will find under the steering column and then had to get the option enabled in the ecm and it was good to go. Just start the engine put trans in neutral turnthe key back 2 clicks hold down brake pedal and hold down 4x4 auto button at same time and the Led will flash several times and then stay on and then it is ready to tow. There is some instruction if you google Ford neutral tow switch. Hope this helps.
- superkExploreris it auto or manual?
If im not mistaken, if its auto, the best way to tow a 4x4 (NOT AWD) is to disable 4x4, put it up on a tow dolly, and drop the drive shaft. - vic46ExplorerThere is a current thread that has a link to Ford towing info back that far I believe.
Search towing/Ford maybe!
