I was looking at a couple of motorhomes this week. Both were 2005 Winnegabo Adventurers. One was a 37B 37 foot with 3 slides, workhorse chassis, 22.5" tires, it had opposing rear slides, 44k miles. The other was and Adventurer 35 foot with a Ford Chassis, 19" tires, 2 slides, 35k miles, I don't remember the model number. Comparing the two is one appreciably better as far as durability, handling etc? We like the floor plan of both but favored the 37B. The 37B was priced 18,000 more. Someone just posted on this or another forum that their workhorse 8.1 just blew a hole in the top of a piston at 44 k miles. Gives me pause.
Without knowing how each model drive tran condition is if you believe both have a good drive tran than I would go with the Workhorse.
My reason is because of the year 2005, Workhorse had a little more HP, more Torque and the Allison transmission, Ford did not get better Hp or Torque and the 5 speed till 2006 chassis models and newer.
When I was looking for my new to me motorhome I stuck to it being on the better chassis for the year so I bought a 08 Bounder with the Ford chassis because the Ford had a better chassis/trans/hp in 2006 and newer, but I also knew if I went older than it was going to be the Workhorse.
