As we look for our next RV (Used DP under $100k) I have been seeing a few Tuscany's that meet my criteria for a floorplan. Having previously owned 2 Thor Class A's I can say I am not a fan and normally they wouldn't be on my radar. But are these years previous to Thor while still under Damon? If memory serves - The pre Thor Tuscany's were fairly well built. I even think after Thor they still remained a pretty solid model. Thoughts? I do think that on a used RV condition is more important than brand, but there is still the question of quality. I had my search narrowed to Newmar, Tiffin and Winnie, but a few of these Tuscany's are checking the boxes at a better price.
Watch who is owning the companies now.. Thor has bought several
If I were buying a coach now, I would looks for a Luxury coach prior to 2009
Cummins / Spartan/ Beaver/ Newmar/ Liberty/ Pervious
Not sure I understand the correlation of who owns the companies now vs when these units were actually built. It's not like they are still under warranty. Damon was acquired by Thor in 2003 but they carried the Damon brand for years after. Were the 2006-2009 Tuscany's still built by Damon or Thor? And does it matter? I've been in a few newer Tuscanny's and the quality and materials look pretty good.
Of course it might be a moot point. For a 14-16 year old MH most of it probably depends on how it was cared for and maintained than brand.
And if someone could point me to a 10-15 year old Newell or Prevost/Liberty in my budget I'd be happy to take a look. Cummins and Spartan are chassis, not brands. I've never heard of Pervious.
