The Schwintek issues were isolated to full wall slides. That has been remedied with the addition of another set of rails. Not really an issue on the Tuscany anyway as the full wall slides are not Schwintek.

We have the 2015 Tuscany 40DX and love it. Have we had problems? Yes, but we have had problems with our first MH and will have problems with our last. The important thing is that Thor has stood behind every problem. This is a great product for the price point we are talking about!

With so many other/better options why would anyone consider a Thor product? And yes - I own one. Our MH is a Newmar (and if there ever is another it will be another Newmar), our TT is a Thor. I'm not a big Thor fan - but that's just me.

Like everything else, some things are deal breakers for some and not for others. I do like quality of engineering and feel that if it's right from day one, it will remain that way through the years and only require fixings and upgrades as you go along.
Sometimes you don't even have to look all over the rig for this, so having said that, it seems that if it has a side radiator and a deal breaker for me, everything else pretty much follows suit and down to the cabinetry and the leather quality of the sofa's.
We just got this on and hopefully the right choice, as I've been wanting an American Coach with an older C9 (2006 with this one) for some time, but not wanting to pay for the name, so just dropped back in the years until my budget was met and even though it doesn't say American anywhere on it, it was built on Fleetwood's American Platform.

as a owner of a 2016 Tuscany XTE 36MQ this is a wonderful machine ,very well built solid and quiet as one can expect from a freightliner with a rear Cummins engine. floor plan is very spacious and easy to live in, the cabinets are solid wood, not veneer and the dash layout is wonderful for a bigger truck, my wife and I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to do a lot of traveling, by the way we live in the Canadian Rockies and power is decent and as the venetian M37 being Thor,s top line its not! the Tuscany 45ft is. note good Sam is a awesome group TOM AND JOANNE HAPPY CAMPERS

You're obviously a newness type buyer and I'm the complete opposite, so having said that, have you considered spending the same budget money for a known and accepted higher end unit and just drop back for however many years it takes to fit your pocketbook?
IMO and as an engineer myself, I can tell you that if the quality of engineering is right, it will remain right and if it's wrong, it will be remain wrong from day one. This may be putting it a bit harshly, but most sure you get the picture.

No matter what is said here, you have a price point and if the Tuscany falls within your budget, telling you to look at other more expensive brands doesn't help.

Just make sure you're not seduced by a lot of bells and whistles. As an example....most RV's of that size will come with a large inverter. Many just look at the word inverter in the brochure and are satisfied. This is where the quality comes in. Is it a 2000 watt or larger brand name inverter like Magnum or Xantrex. Does it come with four batteries or six. These ar the small details that often get overlooked when they're throwing a bunch of gadgets at you. To sell a motor home for less than someone else, they need to cut back on certain things, like stove and microwave quality, engine size, independent front suspension versus straight axle. Side radiator versus rear radiator. Make sure you look at all of these key features and know what you're getting.

If you're looking at a Tuscany, they come with a 450 ISL. If you're looking at their shorter version, Tuscany XTE, it comes with an ISB, which is a motor that is way underpowered in a large motor home.

You can have issues with most manufacture, we have a Challenger and love it, Thor has some great floor plans. I would not hesitate to buy another one at all. Do you like the floor plan? Is the price right?

With any new RV you need to have a good dealer!! On some Thor related Forum you can find were someone had a issue, call Thor (even after hours) and got the help they needed!!
