- bsinmichExplorerYou will either have the W22 or W24 chassis. W20 is too light to be under that size MH. We have the W22 and are not overloaded but most of my lower compartments are empty as I just take out what we haven't used in 10 years.
- guygaland2newfsExplorerAll good news! Thanks again for the information. Dennis, lol, the dogs are partly why we got the motorhome! 2 Newfoundlands will fit just fine in the 37 footer. We cover the furniture with slipcovers and they sleep on the sofa or the bed. Plenty of room. Newfies are known to be couch potatoes. We have a 5 yo and an 11 yo. We have been called home from vacations by dog sitters who didn't know how to handle a newf with fear of thunderstorms. She thought our newf was having a seizure...... one of 3 trips ended short... too much worry to leave them anymore. They are happier with us and visa versa. I will find out what chassis it is and post it. Glad to hear we can look up and see whether the recall was done. We will be getting the specs on our HR but the dealership is closed for a week now, we'll get it soon as they re-open from the holiday. Getting pretty antsy here to get on the road. Nothing keeping us here if we take the pets. Our 6 yo grandson is a quarter midget race car driver and we can now travel with him & his dad to races out of our area. It's all good !!
Linda - bsinmichExplorerWe love our Workhorse chassis. Do you have the W20, W22 or W24 chassis? Put the vin # into the Workhorse website. You will find what has been done to it as far as the brake recall on the 20 +22 chassis. W24 had different brakes. On a 2006 you should have the 6 speed trans with Grade Brake for down hills.
- Executive45Explorer IIIWhere are you gonna put the dogs....:h....:W....Dennis
- C-Leigh_RacingExplorerI could stand to be corrected, because I dont know the construction of that new of a model, but if its like the older HRs, you'll love the welded aluminum body frame instead of sticks & the aluminum skinned roof that will only need a good cleaning ever so often & maybe after quite a few years, replace the roof joint sealing tape.
Cant say about the chassis because ours is the Ford F53, other than what I've heard from some Workhorse owners, but the 8.1L engine is right there on the top & that Alison transmission, you cant get any better.
A friend of ours showed up at a race with MH on a Workhorse chassis, cant remember the brand name, but it had a full drivers side slide & I guess about 38 foot long, he said that 502 amazed him & the unit drove like a car.
For him to say that about the engine, from someone works at RCR & knows how to build HP, the 8.1 must be a good one, so you've got a good unit.
Neil - Thunder_MountaiExplorer IIIt doesn't matter. I own an orphan 2007 HR built by Monaco. All parts except for some major body parts are common among many manufacturers. Sub system parts such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, leveling, drive train can be found on eBay, Amazon, etc. Most of the rest of what you need can be found in your toolbox and on this website.
- guygaland2newfsExplorerWally NM, it's a Workhorse chasis with the 8.1 L vortex engine.
- wallynmExplorerIs this a DP or GAS model. Depending on your answer I may have more to say.

Today we put money down on the above class a motorhome. Only to get home and discover that HR is a division of Monaco. Are we going to have issues trying to locate parts for this Vacationer? Thanks for helping... need to decide whether or not to walk away from this. Thanks, Linda - guygaland2newfsExplorerThank you both for your responses. We both breathed a sigh of relief when we read your responses. We've been looking for a while, actually got close to buying a 2009 Monaco when we discovered parts issues. When we walked inside this well kept oldster, we felt at home, finally. It has high mileage (46,000) and 247 hrs. on the 5500 onan, but it was quiet and clean. Immaculate actually... obviously better taken care of than many newer ones we had seen both inside and out. The basement looked unused. And all this before the dealership had even gone over it and cleaned it up. It was traded in 18 hours before we found it, waiting in line to enter the garage to clean and prep it for sale. Such a relief to know we didn't make a mistake, and now can relax and enjoy. I'm sure we'll be back with many newbie questions. So nice to know the folks at this forum are here to help.
Linda - bullydogs1ExplorerHR is alive and owned by the same company as Fleetwood, American Coach etc. You will have no issues getting parts of tech support as those two operate as their own separate arms...
