is this a 2007 emission engine engine serial number will start with
C7S followed by 5 numbers these engines use a high pressure common rail fuel system with a diesel particulate filter and require periotic regeneration to burn the soot from the particulate filter was the failure a scored cyl from overheat or a broken ring or a hole in a piston most likely caused by a faulty injector either way there would be a lot of damage to the to the emission control systems on the exhaust side of the engine and this can get expensive
if it is a 2004 emission engine with the heui fuel system which is possible if it is a early production 2007 coach it would be less expensive these blocks can be sleeve also short blocks and complete engines are available for either one but there is no cheap option
do some research and get a good estimate from a reliable repair shop
also check the network for after repair warranty service. there is a difference between authorized CAT dealers and independent warrantys
