I'm not sure which fan yet, now that the rain has stopped, I'll start poking around. I haven't found a good schematic drawing of the heat pump yet, only wiring diagrams.
It's not that hard to slide the unit part way out-----and you may just have to take the side cover off. To slide it out, take the side cover off and take out several screws in the bottom. There are also several screws that connect a duct to the unit. These screws require laying under the rear of the MH to access.
The electrical cables will still be attached, when you slide it part way out, and you can turn the unit on and see what is causing the noise.
There was a lot of noise from mine when I first got it. I took the side cover off and found one of the A/C tubes touching the fan housing. I bent the tube a bit and it has been quiet for 8 years now.
