2008 Tioga SL-30 payload

My guess is that with two slides and the 30' length, it probably has a rather low CCC. If the owner can't find the CCC label on the unit, you might find something similar on a local lot that would give you a better idea of what the CCC is.

Thanks all for the responses. Yes, it's the one in Kitsap County. I'm over-analyzing this being newly-retired, and with our hefty sales tax, I need to get this right the first time. I was hoping someone on here had a similar rig and might have a ball-park weight number, or know which Class C's are notorious for being overloaded. My experience is limited to a 20' Class C thirty years ago, and a 20' trailer I sold two weeks ago. I could give up a rear slide if it would make the difference in not having to worry about exceeding rear axle limits. If I could find a 28' unit, can I assume most of them are within payload limits?

You have 14050 if chassis year is 1997-2007. 14500 if 2008 and newer. Very common for say a "2008 Coach" to be on a 2007 Ford Chassis. If it has the "Dump Truck Nose" with a big chrome grille, it's 2008+

The seller needs to weigh the bus. There's a truck stop in Marysville on the west side of the freeway need the Casino that can weigh it.

That is exactly where mine was on my Fleetwood Tioga.

You can weigh it at the weigh station on I-5 southbound at about mile marker 187. Not very far from Woodinville, it's between Lynnwood and Everett. I've done it numerous times with various vehicles. I don't pull in if the weigh station is open, but I doubt if they would be very offended if you pulled in when it was staffed. You might have to read off the display in the scale house if the display ahead of you doesn't read it out. They generally have the inside display facing out so you can read it. Down south, I think there is a scale near Enchanted Village.

Yes, facts are better than conjecture! I'm not sure there are any scales within a reasonable drive from where it's located. I'd like to know if it's way out of the ballpark before I make a long drive to see it. Questions for Class C'ers - what amount of payload is "enough" in a 30' E450 RV?

The most accurate way is to drive to the scales and see what your unit weighs with fuel and people ready to travel. Subtract that from your 14,500 max allowable. Then you will have the real world numbers.
