2010 Fleetwood Discovery 40G Battery Connnections

he changed the house batterys a while back(sept 01) and everything was working correctly according to his posts so 9 days later iam assuming he changed the chassis batterys this time

Roy's post helped me track down the problem

One of the Jumpers was connected incorrectly & was grounding. The brand new batteries purchase yesterday were also low on water. Believe it or not, I put almost a gallon in the 4 new batteries.

Everything is working correctly. Have both A/C units running, so the system is under load. No issues for now. Inverter reading Absorb Charging DC 14.2V 45A

Should shore power button be used when storing the coach? I have always just plugged it in & walked away. The only thing that I leave running is the Fridge.

Your post is a little confusing, so let's try to clean it up. Which batteries did you replace? The two 12VDC batteries, the four 6VDC batteries or all six? I read it as you replaced the four 6VDC batteries. Assuming that, I can also assume you did not take a picture of the wiring before disconnecting them. Common mistake but can be a costly one. Assuming you do not have a picture, I've attached a picture of my battery bank for you. See below.

Basically:

Positive supply line goes to the positive post on battery one;
Negative supply line goes to the negative post on battery four;
Jumpers are then connected to the positive posts on batteries, one and three;
Jumpers are connected to the negative posts on batteries, four and two;
Finally jumpers connect battery one's NEGATIVE post to battery two's POSITIVE post and battery three's NEGATIVE post to battery four's POSITIVE post.

Hope this helps. Post back once you've verified the batteries are correctly wired.....Dennis

Have you tried running the coach and seeing if the inverter works when vehicle is running? have you tested the house batt voltage at the batterys

Highly unlikely that the batteries have been connected wrong for the last 6 years.

Since the chassis batteries failed, assuming that both sets are original, the house batteries are probably going out too.

Paying for a professional diagnosis might end up being the cheapest thing to do.

Your post is a little confusing. First, I suspect the chassis batteries read 10.7 VOLTS, not amps.

And you do not mention replacing or changing wiring for the house 6 VDC batteries. Please confirm with a digital voltmeter (start under $10) the reading at the house battery bank. Red lead to the cable running from a positive terminal to the inverter. Black lead to the cable running from a negative terminal to the inverter. If it does read 19.4 VDC, something is VERY WRONG. Yes, batteries could be hooked up incorrectly or inverter/charger malfunctioning.

I can't stress enough that make sure all battery connections and cables are clean and in good shape. that has happened to me a few time when I thought i had major problems when I found a bad battery cable or connection. When testing never use the chassis for your ground. Use the battery cable and by doing this you can detect a bad ground connection. I learned all of the above the hard way.:D

there is no co-relation between your starting batterys and your 120V systems
R U Sure you have enough coach battery power to run the inverter?
you never mentioned does your 12V system work ok?
for what reason did you think your 6 volt batterys may be connected incorrectly?
