2011 Sprinter Chassis Squealing Sound Brake Pads? OR?

Hi since we took delivery of this Coach 2011 Mercedes 24 ft. Fleetwood Ranger DSL there has been a squealing squeaking sound from underneath area It seems maybe the brakes but it also happens when not applying the Brakes but when turning the wheels. We have had the Brakes checked out and they are good. We were told to consult a Mercedes Dealer and the only thing they suggested without looking at it...was to make sure the Pads were genuine Mercedes Pads.
This happens both and hot and cold running. Any experience with this much appreciated.
  • by the way your rv sits on a dodge chassis .only thing MB about it is the engine.
  • You didn't mention the mileage on the brakes. When we bought our used unit, the brakes made noise for quite a while until the rust (or whatever) finally wore thru and the noise ceased.
  • Not sure if this will work but whenever my Dad had squealing brakes he would drive backwards in a parking lot and slam on the brakes. This would clean out anything that could be stuck in there like a rock. His second trick was to engage the parking brake fully and the brake pedal as well several times as this would make sure they were engaging and hopefully releasing.
  • It may not be the service brakes making noise, but the drum parking brake if equipped.
  • #1 you don,t need a MB dealer. we have a older unit like yours a 2007 and love it. listen real good windows down head out find which side is the problem ,thats half the battle. one thing thats a puzzle you here the noise sitting still that don,t sound like brakes . do it yourself or find a brake shop who works on trucks . you don,t want CW or any rv dealer .get on google and ask, a;so the sprinter club could help . my front caliper went bad at 30k ,but that makes a nasty sound you can,t miss.got the new set of shoes both sides new caliper new rotor installed in a fair grounds field for $300. bucks. parts came from a napa dealer.
