2011 Winnebago Eclipse 42QD

Hi All, we are dealing on the subject MH with a local dealer. This is a one owner, and has 60K miles on it. It drives like new and has been cared for very well. They are asking $175K which seems to be in line with what I see at other dealers on the net. Asking current owners their good/bad experience with this MH, and how the price sounds for a used unit. Salesman says it doesn't have the problematic slides and jacks that are typical of Winnebago MHs in this time frame. Also, would you buy a dealer sold extended warranty on a deal like this? Thx!

  • The roof would have had to been inspected...There are many threads concerning Winee roofs...the fiberglass peels back if it not resealed on a regular basis..
  • Thanks for all of the feedback. The more we considered this purchase, the more we put weight on the condition of the inside of the coach. Counter tops were scratched, carpet was in so so condition, and the driver/passenger chairs were a little beat up. I think we will keep looking. Disappointed as it drove VERY nice.
  • I think in 2011 the front axle was straight beam instead of independent front suspension?
  • Before closing the deal look at the age of the tires. A 2011 is likely on a 2010 chassis making the tires about 6-7 years old, if they have not been replaced recently. AT that price point I'd make the dealer throw in new tires if it still has the originals on it.
  • That price probably not too bad if coach is in great condition and there is evidence of proper maintenance. 60K miles in a 5 - 6 year old coach means it was used and did not sit which is a good thing if it was maintained properly.

$175K is about in the middle of NADA Average and Low retail. I would certainly expect dealer to put new tires on it, new batteries.

We bought an extended service plan when we bought our coach used in 2013. It was from Cornerstone, it was not terribly expensive and it has paid for itself in 3 years. Just be careful on an ESP... some are not bad, some are terrible. Shop carefully on those.
  • 2011 is a nice unit. It has the TV that retracts in the bedroom, and the sides of the slides were not painted to match the body paint. I think the bedroom was carpet rather than the tile option. Gas stove instead of electric, but a nice D450 aquahot. They are correct on the slides.

Price doesn't sound bad to me - They seemed to run around $200 to even $250 when we were looking last winter, but usually with less miles.

If its in good shape, you should enjoy it! I suspect tires have already been replaced.
  • Price seems on the higher side for an 11 with 60K on it by about 20K to 30K IMHO.
  • The 2011 does not have the swintech slides(very good thing) . The only issue is the flexible hose from rear toilet to the black tank. The fit and finish on a 2011 is better than later years.
