2012 F53 Ground Locations

I have an electrical issue with my instrument cluster & chassis A/C.
Instrument cluster lights flicker and I can hear turn signal relays click while driving down the road. If I turn on the blower or A/C I then lose all ignition to the engine and it shuts down.

I believe that I have a loose ground. From the diagrams provided to me by Ford. I'm looking for G108 & G109.

Does anyone have experience in where these are physically located on the chassis?

I know the feeling. Glad you found the culprit. I know you are resting easy now, and will enjoy your trip back home without worrying if it will die on the road. Good for you........
  • I've found the issue. The ground G108 & G109 are located on a steel box frame on the back side which is pinched by the firewall. After several thousand miles it's apparently frayed. I've reattached to a steel frame on the front side.

Location of these in the engine compartment is drivers side and just to left of the 3 PCM modules.

    Hope this may help others.
  • I would take it to Ford or have extended warranty cover it. However I'm traveling and dealers are quoting me a week before they can look at it. Family and I are heading home. But I'd like to double check connections and trouble shoot before hitting the road for another 1,000 miles.
  • You have 2012, right? Should be under warranty. Let Ford figure it out.
  • Sounds somewhat like a problem I just had, except that mine just would not start one day. Everything was dead including the instrument panel and starter.
Problem turned out to be dirty contacts of a solenoid located on the passenger side of the radiator frame. You have to get to it from the wheel well. This solenoid distributes power to the starter and the instrument panel.
Two other folks on here had the same problem.
  • Not yet.:B Been wondering where those disfunction junktion's were my self.

Please post photos of Diagrams you have if, possible or PM me.
