2012 Sightseer slides, do they all need to be opened?

Which goes to prove that having the slide(s) out on only one side does not "unbalance" the RV; otherwise your old RV would have ALWAYS been unbalanced when camped.;)

It makes no difference on how many slides are out on any motorhome that has levelers. If you weigh your RV you would find that the 2 sides are not equal in weight anyway.

First congratulations on your purchase. We often only open the bedroom slide. We seldom open the full wall slide for one night quick travel stops. As you can see in our signature, we have the same floor plan as you do. Good luck and happy travels.

Having spent a fair number of nights boondocking in rest areas, Walmart's, Casino's, and the such in our Winnebago Suncruiser 37F, I would say "no", you don't have to extend all three slides if you don't need to. We often only deploy the bedroom slide, or 2 out of the 3 especially if parking is tight. Have never had a balance issue even if we just put out the full wall slide.

Lots of single full wall slide units that aren't "unbalanced" with the levelers out. I say do what you want to do. Can't see any technical reason why not. If the manufacturer offers the ability to limit which slides can be open, they did it for a reason(s).

I have no first hand knowledge of your rig so this just my thoughts on the subject.

I would say you would not have to have all the slides out. It just does not make any sense to have to put all out. Looking at your floor plan I would guess you are thinking about the bedroom slide more than the other two. With that said the living room slides might be a different thing. As for balance I could see what past owner was talking about, it would make sense to put both out. However for an overnight I would put out what is needed for the night.
