The V10 is not the problem. Motorhomes get the 365hp version and that is plenty to tow with. There are many other issues that affect your towing and based on what another posted as GCVWR and Thor's tow rating on a random 2012 hurricane model I looked up on the internet, it looks like Thor says you can tow about 4k up to 5k depending on how heavy you load the coach itself. The 5k upper limit may just be the class III hitch or it may have to do with the frame or other components of the driveline.
PLEASE do look at and ask about others' experiences with Thor as mentioned above at the Thor owners' forum at irv2.com. Quality control seems to be very hit or miss. Hopefully with a 2012 most issues will have been sorted out. The other possibility with a 2012 is that someone decided to cut their losses with a lemon.
