2013 Itasca Sunstar 30T Noise Help

We love our new coach & the problems so far have been small & few but we do have an annoying intermittent noise on the road that I haven't been able to locate. It sounds like maybe electrical wires or such slapping against the inside of the front driver side slideout wall right behind the driver's head. It comes & goes depending on the roughness of the road. I first thought it might be radiating from the slideout awning roller mechanism but now am beginning to think its just something loose in the slideout wall. So far I have been able to fix the small problems we have had without taking it back to the dealer.

Anyone have any experience with this one?

Thanks,
Cass

On my Vista 30T we had an intermittent squeak from the buffet counter top. Wedged a piece of foam and it stopped. Sounds can bounce so don't necessarily look to where you think you hear it. Stand in the back and listen. Much difference from front. It is overall a neat rig.

Yes, it is a neat rig - we are very happy with ours.

My latest theory is that the spring in the slideout topper tube is broken or loose allowing it to rattle with road vibration & the sound being just above the slideout is radiating down the wall behind the drivers head sounding like it is in the wall. I have an appointment with the dealer to check that out in a couple of weeks.

  • Still trying to find a cure.

Talked to Customer Service at Winnebago & they said they've never heard of the problem before but that there is supposed to be styro in the slideout wall with a channel for any wires that may be there. Probably no way to get to it without cutting into the wall.
  • Hi. I have the Sunstar 35B. I have not heard any noises as of yet, but will listen and check mine and let you know if I get any.
