Any time anyone asks about "which brand is better" on here, some folks will always chime in that their favorite manufacturer has "better quality" than the others. But too often, they ignore the price question -- which make/model will give me the most value for $xxx,000?
If you have unlimited funds, your "best quality" will be a Prevost, Newell, or Foretravel. But if you have a limited budget, let's say $100,000, you have to look across the board (and at actual discounted prices, not the fictional MSRPs), and see what that money gets you in different makes/models.
Very well said.
Of the brands being discussed so far, I personally am surprised that Monaco or Newmar are even in the same 'ballpark' with the Georgetown, in the 'bang for buck' category. Those (Monaco and Newmar) were much higher priced coaches than the Georgetown, or at least they were when we were looking.
We looked at bunk models in all those brands, as well as the Tiffin Allegro and Winnebago bunk models. Of all of them, Georgetown was the best we could find in terms of bang for the buck. Yes, the others had lots more 'bling' and options, and quality was a little better in some cases. However, that quality and extra options sure came at a very steep price!
The price mentioned, '85ish' for a full body paint model: Thats pretty close to what we paid for our full body paint bunk model Georgetown (see signature) 'bout a year ago. JMO, but I think it will be very, very difficult to get that price on ANY full painted new coach of the brands mentioned so far except for a Georgetown.
