2015 Jayco roof maintenance

Just purchased New 2015 Jayco Redhawk. Would it be recommended I inspect the roof fixture seals as recommended by the owners manual? I plan to pay my dealership every year for this service but, because it's new yet one year old, is it necessary right now?

Thanks
  • I had to run Eternabond tape across the edge of the cap where it meets the EPDM roof and re-caulked the seams on my front cap of my 2015 FR Sierra fiver. So yes, make it a habit to climb on your roof and check everything on a regular basis. Water intrusion is your RV's worst enemy.
  • Get in the habit of an annual inspection and this means the first year, either by you or someone you trust. Check the roof for caulking issues, furnace, water heater, plumbing connections, etc.
  • I would inspect it now because they miss stuff at the factory. I had 3 places on my trailer when it was new that I added more Dicor sealant to.
