2016 WINNEBAGO ADVENTURER 38Q

Although we had no business trading in so early, I fell in love with the 38Q. So spacious and as close, in many features, to a diesel pusher. Although it is much heavier I still wonder if we should put the Steering Stabilizer on what recommendations, if any, on a preferred manufacturer. We have always had Steer Safe on all previous RVs. I also read somewhere that because of the length it might be advisable to have it on the front and rear. Never heard of this before. We will also be installing a central vac and wondered if anyone has found the best place for this since it includes the kick plate too. I can't get over the HUGE camera screen although not sure I like the idea of my husband also having a camera on the passenger side.

  • Thank you everyone for your input on the stabilizers. We are researching the Blue Ox true center vs. roadmaster vs. Steer Safe. We were told that although the Steer Safe os great, it is sort of old school in comparison. Had the Steer safe on all previous motor homes. Even experienced a blow out without loosing any control, pass trucks and they pass me without a hiccup. Ordered the Dirt Devil central vac and the Vac Pan to go with it. Having the wiring installed for our Invisibrake on our Ford Edge so should be good to go in a couple of days after picking it for the shake down. Very excited about having so much space in this floorplan.
  • I have a 38Q which was purchased last fall. Drove it all winter. I have been trying to find a steering stabilizer for the 2016. My preference is the roadmaster steering stabilizer. If they don't develop for 2016 soon I am going to go with the blue ox true center. I am thrilled with this coach even though there have been a few initial problems we are getting them worked out.
  • We have a new 38Q and are eager to see the responses to the stabilizer here. I did the CHF on the front bar and it made a huge difference but I am thinking the additional stabilizer may add some extra safety.

We decided against the central vacuum as the 38 Q is so easy to quickly clean with a good easy to stow electric broom.

The DW and I swap back and forth on the 2 screens. Sometimes i watch the Toad on long stretches while she watches the GPS. In cities or near critical turns we swap.

We've had a lot of problems with ours ( a new one this morning the bed inflator died) hopefully sometime soon we can get past all the issues into more stability in operations of the rig
  • I have never seen steering stabilizers for the rear axel but that does not mean they do not exist. The MAIN purpose of a steering stabilizer like Steer Safe is to help you maintain steering ability in harsh road, crosswind, truck passing and tire blow out situations. Many people feel that they notice an improved overall comfort when driving. I don't know anyone who has "rear" stabilizers and they are mostly 40ft + class A.

You will love the central vac especially if you have kids or dogs.

I have the rear, left and right side cameras and find them very helpful when changing lanes in city and heavy traffic. They are set up to change from rear view to left side view when activating the felt turn signal and to the right view when activating the right turn signal.
