Capt. Bill, this is a correct statement! I own a 2014 CRV the last year that you can tow them all 4 wheels down. Honda changed to the SRT transmission (same transmission that is in a Subaru) in 2015 and there still using that transmission in the 2016 and 2017 models. Honda by doing this has made a 2014 CRV and down in years harder to get especially for RVers who desire to own them.

Honda CRVs up to 2013 are flat towable. 2014 model years and up are not flat towable. FYI - Honda Element models feature the same running gear, so they are also flat towable up to 2013 models, too.
