Thanks for the info. The first pump I ordered was for a 454 in a 3500-series truck. It was incorrect - it had no mounting provision for the power steering pump. Not sure what direction it turned. I ordered a pump for a P30 and that appears to be correct.
I'm going to roll the dice on a clutch for the fan. The last post in that thread says that if it gets hot and recovers quickly then you have a good working system. I tend to agree. Mine recovers almost immediately , but maybe the fan shouldn't be letting it get that hot in the first place? Dunno.
