454 Tune-up Question

Well, ya'll ought to get a chuckle out of this. Today I figured I'd get to investigating this some. Got out the book and found the fuel pump relay etc. so I fired it up (popped right off) and let it run and warm up while sipping my favorite adult beverage. I gave it a good 30 minutes then shut it off. I tried estimating the length of time it would take to pump a full tank of fuel and how long mama would be in the store checking out goodies. Well, here goes. I turned the key and it spun about 4 times and fired right up. Ya might know. I let it run again, this time about another 30 minutes but at a higher rpm. Shut it down and again waited roughly 30 minutes before trying to restart. AGAIN.....spun about 5 times and fired right up. At this point I was out of patience and sippin' juice so I ended this test. Maybe it was the beverage so I'll try it again later, with a cup of coffee. The saga continues.......
