I have a 4x4 C and quite honestly, I don't know that I could ever be without one now. Mine is lifted 6" and that really is the thing. If the one you are looking at isn't lifted? You want that. I am familiar indeed with your part of Nevada..in fact. most of the South West and having the 4x4 takes a lot of the concern about going some places...out of the equation. It is NOT a four wheelin machine tho...it flexes and bends because it is a Class C RV. You'll bust it or flop it over if you try the Jeep thing.
Get underneath and look to see if it has plate under there. When a person goes thru some of those washes, for instance? The angle of approach and /or departure will have the back end dragging. You wanna have protection. If it's not plated..and you buy? Get that done.
As for value? That is just way to hard to say. It's a 79, but if it has been desert kept, then you won't have rot issues. Maybe. You need to get a good look under the inside ceiling...looking for stains.
Ohh..I see the pix on Epd Portal. Pretty cool desert or beach rig. That light bar? Man..that is a leak looking to happen. But..I see you have said you are buying...good luck.
