Converting is expensive but so is buying new. You might be able to get a good deal on a used one. It'll take some searching and patience but you could end up with a sweet little class C like Gary's.
Most people are familiar with Host, Tiger and EarthRoamer. Born Free also has a 4 wheel drive option so if you're buying new you have a lot of choices.
