5 Star Tune

I bought the 5-Star for my rig, and the performance improvement has been pretty dramatic. The mileage has not changed, but the engine/tranny has given me what I paid for.

I finally got around to buying and installing this tuning program. I bought a new tow vehicle, 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Set it all up to tow, and towed it in the factory setting. Then I installed the program on my way home and it changed it completely on how well it pulled with the shift patterns after the install. I am quite pleased so far. Only have about a 100 miles on it so far. But going on a big trip in August and will give it a real good test. But really happy so far.

Ok. I forgot about this post. I got my tune 3 months ago. Much better drivability. I’m towing a 14 Explorer with 2 bikes minimum and now a kayak. The difference is incredible. No more speed limiter, I set it to the max speed limit of 125mph ( I could’ve removed it all together, but I didn’t want to be completely unsafe.
It accelerates much better, throttle response is much improved. As of right now I gained approx. .3 mpg. That was in cool weather. I’ll guess at .5 improvement max, which will put me at 6 mpg.
We are leaving on our east trip for 2 weeks on July 2nd, so I’ll have a good feel for how it is after that trip.

I found the 5 Star Tune was worth getting just for the improvement in the transmission shift patterns. I don't think there was any change in gas mileage. I do think it improves acceleration in such situations as merging onto a highway. And, I have the 5 speed transmission.
