No problem-- sounds normal.

But, anytime oil pressure is lower than normal for a given condition (such as hot at idle), it is a good idea to check the oil and make sure it has not been diluted with diesel from bad injector, lift pump failure (some models) etc!

In other words, if something changes from the way it is normally, find out why.

from what I've picked up so far, Cummins engines have around 10 lbs at idle and nothing to be concerned about. As far as bad injectors , no way because I check the oil often and it never moves on the stick and this thing runs as clean as can be with no smoke at all. I'm going to raise the idle by 100 rpm because it's a tad low at only 650 rpm. As soon as it up to 800 , the pressure goes up to 20 lbs
