It should help the engine run cooler (better air flow out the bottom) and reduce the amount of rock chipping to the toad.
I had just the opposite. Without it, I had rock damage on my Explorer. Found rocks at the base of the windshield and a couple on the roof. I got 2 things for one with it. It finishes off the rear and offers protection for the toad. As far as heat, the generator is already running hot, this isn’t going to block any airflow at the rear to cause heat issues.
