You need to be careful on this forum when you ask a question like this. You will get answers from $100K and up diesel pushers. They have a suspension which is significantly better then a gas engine MH. Now if you have a Ford it is based on leafs just like the old horse buggy's were. Hard to compare that ride to a computer guided air bag suspension.
As a passenger you should not be "scared" even in a gas engine MH. So that is telling me that something may be wrong. In the last two days we just drove over 700 miles and I doubt that my wife would ever say she was scared during that time. We even have an older Ford then you, so I think you may have a mechanical issue. First thing I would do is check the sway bar bushing to see if they are still intact, next thing I would do is check the shocks, I bet they are OEM.
