I'm about one step ahead of you, boutime....my wife and I are not retired, but it has always been our plan to get a coach when retirement came around. It's not too far off, but we just had a Class A gas unit basically fall into our laps. We're very excited and have a bit of a learning curve ahead but are taking the challenge!!
If you haven't been before, the RV Show that is held at the NC State Fairgrounds every year is a really great place to start looking. There are brand new coaches offered there from $75K upwards of $1M plus. Most of the dealerships represented offer great show specials if you're looking for new units and usually have books with pictures for their used units. We've been going to the shows for the past 5 years trying to get a feel for what we wanted. If we were to buy new, we seriously considered the Thor Ace units. But as stated earlier, we had this used unit fall into our laps and will take possession of it in a week or so. Looking forward to our first outing after a thorough cleaning and once-over for all the major mechanicals. Best of luck to you on your search!!!
