if married be sure to consult your better half. When we started in 1978 we went used and kept it for three years. Was not retired and had two kids, 7 & 2. We started making a list of must have,never have, and don't care. Using the list we looked and modified. Develop a budget and start looking. You can find some nice used rigs in the 100K to 150K range.
