Over the past twenty years, I have progressed through the levels of camping to RV'ing. Two pop-up tent trailers, a travel trailer, fifth wheel and now a 2008 DP 39' Winnebago Destination. Spent seven years in the Montana Fifth Wheel pulled by a 2500 HD Chevrolet Silverado.
Each destination led to the next. Now, the Fifth Wheel is still for sale, then the truck will be traded in for a vehicle that can be flat towed. The market is flooded with used fifth wheels. The wait-to-sell time is tedious.
That being said, my recommendation is that if you are ready for the Class A DP, do it after renting for the experience of knowing what you are in for. Great advice & perspective given by all.
