ABS Issue

I have a 1995 Ford E350 Class-C Motorhome (460eng,AC/AT)and have had the following ABS problem. I have a continuous ABS warning light...I have checked for faults using a Snapon2500 which indicates the following fault, C1206 (Rear Inlet Valve Ckt Fault)...friends and the internet suggests the first thing to change is the ABS Control Module and if that does not fix continue investigation for another cause...my problem is finding the ABS Control Module, seems Ford has done a good job in hiding it...additional information: both front wheels have ABS sensors and dual wheels on the rear...also brakes seem soft when applied which may indicate an ABS Pump or a bleed job needs to be accomplished...I am reading ABS problems are common and some suggest to ignore the warning light...ABS is a safty mode that should operational...looking for help and guidance...Thanks/John

  • I have a 1994 E350 with the same diagnosis...have traveled 6000 miles with the light on and pulling a Jeep...just remember you are driving a MH and need to keep your following distances longer than a standard auto and you should be fine.

Sadly, I concur. My '94 E350 suffered from this and to add insult to injury, the parts were no longer avialble. Thru a service centre it was established that the brakes were fuctioning properly. I got out a black sharpie and toned down the dash light.

ABS is certainly nice in some situation, but IMO cars can still be safely driven without it. The same thing happened to my '94 E350 and I chose to ignore the ABS light. It didn't really work all that well anyways, compared to ABS on a rig with 4-wheel disc brakes.
