It could very likely be a thermal disk is bad. They are just a few bucks and do fail. They are attached to a couple places on the AC's tubing up on the roof. Easy to test too. With the AC off and the tubing cool (morning best), check for ZERO ohms across any thermal disks you find under the shroud. Discharge the caps first.
