Unless you used your hand or better yet, a IR temp gun on either side of the valve after the engine has been running for an hour... do not ASSUME it's shutting the water off. I had to add a manual shut off valve to completely stop the flow as the OEM ones leak.
I bypassed the evaporator temp switch so my compressor runs all of the time when AC selected. Out west I rarely have to shut the AC off to melt the ice buildup which slows the flow of air. Even on hot days I rarely have to crank the generator to run the roof units.
