AC trips out on shore power but not when on the generator

I am renovating a 1988 TravelMaster (now Coachman) Ford E350. When I run the AC connected to outside power, the AC runs for maybe 10 minutes and trips out. The last time I tried using it I smelt ele...

You didn't say what you were pluging into when on shore power. If you are using an adaptor to plug into a regular household outlet, there is you problem If you are using an extension cord after the adaptor, definity your problem. You need to plug into a 30amp outlet.
