AC WINDOW UNIT

I just recently installed a 5000btu unit in a rear window of my van camper. If you just want to add cooling to one room, like say your bedroom, an 8000 unit would probably work fine. But I don't think a window unit will help much for the whole coach. You could also buy a portable unit that can roll around to whatever room you are in and vent out a window. That would be much better when you are going down the road. The portable units work great, I use one in my summer cabin and take it on my boat when we overnight. They start at a little over $300 and up depending on size. The plastic exhaust hose is a bit of a pain but a window only has to be open a few inches for the adapter to fit the window opening. click to enlarge pic
