The capacitor is an electronic component and just because it worked for awhile, does not mean that the replacement will last forever. In all probability the replacement was a made in China component with a less than spectacular quality control system. Replacing the capacitor again is an inexpensive option to find out if you have a more serious problem.
You have a good point and I will look into changing the capacitor btw I read that these (Carrier AV) have 2 capacitors so not sure which capacitor was replaced.
