Have you ever seen a RV go up in flames? A safe will go, too.
How many RV burgleries have you really known via first-person accounts? We full-timed for 16+ years and were around full-timers constantly. We never heard on one.
We always kept important 'copies' of papers in a container setting near the front door so we could grab it fast. If we had RV maintenance, etc. done, we took it along with us in the car while waiting. We didn't keep originals in it, just copies. Originals of anything was at daughter's along with backup computer files.
My RV was burglarized while the motorhome was next to my house and I was asleep on the other side of the wall. Even my dog slept through it. I was a cop for almost 30 years and I probably handled 20 or so burglaries of various types of RV's. And the only reason the number is that low is because I only spent about five years of my total career working a patrol car. The rest was in assignments where I wouldn't have handled RV burgs. So the 20 was all within those five years. - 2gypsies1Explorer IIIHave you ever seen a RV go up in flames? A safe will go, too.

THEN keep your valuables in a place that only you know about,,,,,,, like inside the propane tank, under the genset cover, inside the muffler, inside a tire. I'm being factious but you get the idea.
- prstlkExplorerMine is a fire safe, a cube 18 18 18. It is in the basement bolted to the slide in the center, bolts have sheared to prevent easy removal. The safe is covered by a cardboard box of the kind you normally would find in an rv basement. Yes a thief could get it out with tools and noise if he new it was there.
We are full time and need a place for papers more than cash.
a thief however cab get through anything given enough time.
jw - AllegroDNomadHave you done a search. Lot of folks have talked about it.

That wouldent help. You would need to get past these two. Here they are on duty on high alert. Lol - mike_brezExplorerYou gave me a great idea. We don't use LP I'm going to turn my LP tank into a safe.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIMy Monaco coach came with a safe. It is large enough to carry a few handguns, ammo, and some money. It is right in the bottom of the closet. Sort of easy to find if you are looking for a safe. Since a criminal doesn't know I keep it empty, it will take some of their time and effort to break in to it.
I keep my valuables in a separate, more secure area, that only has access from outside of the coach. I figure that any inside hiding places provides the thieves with some cover while they search. An outside accessible location causes them to be exposed while they search. Most rigs have a place outside where a steel box can be attached(bolted or welded) to the frame. Mine happened to have such an area right next to the LP tank. - Executive45Explorer IIIPlease provide an address where the coach is kept and the combination..please...it will help a lot...thanks....:B:B...Dennis

Not always a good idea to put photos of your safe on here unless you're posting under completely anonymous info.
