- klutchdustExplorer III adjusted them this morning and all is good. I found it was easiest to hold the blinds in the fully open, at the top, position with plastic spring tension clamps to give me room at the bottom.
The cord was completely unwound from the spool which leads me to one conclusion, raccoons, or as commonly referred to as young boys. One grandson can unravel anything and can't keep his
hands busy. Next trip Ill show them how to use the blinds properly. He will most likely unbolt the table from the floor as we are going down the road instead. . No worries, - luvztheoutdoor1ExplorerI have also learned that keeping extra spools on hand really helps. They are plastic and break easily. I have replaced two in the last year. Believe me, we treat these shades carefully.

- CloudDriverExplorerOur day/night shades have two piece "spools" for adjusting the string tension. By loosening the center screw, I can pull the portion of the spool that has the cord wrapped around it away from the fixed portion of the spool that is screwed to the RV wall. There are 4 pins on the cord portion that fit into the fixed portion to keep the spool from turning from the tension. By loosening the center screw, I can pull the pins free and rotate the spool in 1/4 turn increments. Usually 1/4 turn tighter is enough to keep the blinds up.
The pins are visible in the picture. - klutchdustExplorer IIThey are falling down.
- GjacExplorer IIIIf your talking about the day night blinds if they are loose they will vibrate down over time and the string needs to be wound over the barrel nuts to keep them up. Just don't wind them too tight because it will put more tension on the string and you risk breaking the string over time. I learned this the hard way. It doesn't make a difference what position the blinds are in to tighten them. Unless your blinds are falling down I would not tighten them.
