You might want to join the Lazy Daze yahoo group, "Life with a Lazy Daze RV". The amount your folks are looking to spend would buy a unit that is 13 to 16 years old in relatively good condition. They can be had for less but less generally comes with other issues. I believe Born Free has their own forum as well.
I would imagine the other good RVs like Born Free fall into the same price range. The good news is that your on the west coast. Lazy Daze are more plentiful there as compared to the east coast where I live.
