I figured this would turn into a diesel/gas thread.
To the OP, there are lots of pros/cons to the diesel vs gas "discussions" that regularly take place here.
While I could afford a DP, I like having the extra money in the bank and not having to worry about $5,000 to $30,000 engine repair bills. Although the diesel engine has a longer design life, it's very expensive if you have a fuel or turbo problem-------let alone a major failure (and they do happen).
A gasser from a good manufacturer will ride and handle OK (especially the newer chassis) and are acceptable quiet. If not acceptably quiet, a $150 worth of sound deadening for the doghouse will do wonders.
